The Gene Krupa Story Live Show is the creation of drummer/producer ARTHOR von BLOMBERG who takes center stage during the show to perform all drum parts originally played by Gene Krupa.
According to von BLOMBERG, “The Gene Krupa Story Live Music Show is a high-energy, multi-media, two-hour Big Band Swing Show honoring the musical achievements of the world’s most famous drummer, Gene Krupa.”
The show includes original arrangements made famous by Krupa, including “Drum Boogie,” “Let Me Off Uptown,” “Drummer Boy,” “Drummin’ Man,” “Opus One,” “How High The Moon,” “Sing Sing Sing,” and many more.
Q: WHY DID von BLOMBERG CREATE AN ENTERTAINING, YET HIGHLY EDUCATIONAL LIVE SWING MUSIC SHOW?
A: “Swing music, in its day during the 1940s, represented 75 percent of the world of pop music,” von BLOMBERG says. “I’m finding that many young people listen to swing music thanks to the Internet. And they don’t necessarily think of it as 'old' music, but rather different and fresh."

“Great drumming. Maui arts and cultural center has a great stage, and Maui has a pretty good jazz scene. I hope you play here someday.”
